Littlebigplanet+5.00 M33 help

#1 04 Jan 2010 @ 21:58
so i got littlebigplanet for psp for christmas, and while i was happy to get it, i was deeply saddened by the fact that i had to upgrade to official firmware (you can imagine the pain i'm in, for sure). I guess what im asking is, is it possible to play games that require 6.00 official firmware on a psp with CFW 5.00 M33? any help will be greatly appreciated. I just wanna play military madness and metal slug again!

do i need a memory stick over 1 gig to do this? or is the file small enough to fit on my 1 gig memory stick?

its small enough, dont know the exact size tho,, must be around 10 mb

thanks, i can't wait to try this out (gave my PSP to my friend so he could re-hack it). but just to make sure, if i do this right, i can play my littlebigplanet umd (NOT ISO) on my psp, but i can't get on the Playstation network to download new levels?

there is a patch for LBP to use the psn network but you can use the UMD and ISO as you wish

is there a link for that patch? i would really like to get it, as a lot of littlebigplanet's fun really comes out online.

wait, are you saying that i need gen firmware to use this? i can't use the 5.00 M33 that i currently have installed on my psp?
#15 06 Jan 2010 @ 11:45
but will it work on the 5.00 M33 firmware as well? or do i have to use gen firmware? and if i do have to use gen firmware, can i just install it on my psp with 5.00 m33 already installed, so i don't have to use a pandoras battery again?
#16 06 Jan 2010 @ 11:52
think it works on 5.00m33-6, you can install gens from 5.00m33-6 without pandora just download the links i gave and no they will not load from 5.00m33 you have to do the -6 update.
if your psp online and you do network update it will download 5.00m33-6 when you on 5.00m33 thats how i did it first time you can run it straight away or like an iso game make sure battery fully charged and power pack in and switched on

like i said u cant go online with LBP and cfw to download levels, even with psnabler patch. it just wont work, its asking the psp to update firmware to 6.20 but i heard it works for other games.

my memory stick isn't big enough for the iso. i have the decrypted eboot and the patched eboot and now im stuck. help!

so i guess, what im asking, is that because my memory stick isn't big enough for the little big planet ISO im pretty much out of luck? im trying to do this with my UMD, not to put the game on a memory stick.
#23 06 Jan 2010 @ 18:36
in other words, if i do this right, i can use the 6.00 umd on my 5.00 M33-6 PSP?

UMD'S are meant to be run in your psp UMD slot,,, you cant run a UMD like you would run an .ISO.

http://www.pspcrazy.com/forums/psp-help-...r-computer.html i think you should start there.

and if the iso is too big for your memory stick then you cant play it obviously.
unless you know a magical way to create a UMD lol.

if i understand right you want to play your UMD but you have custom firmware 5.00 m33 and the game asks you to update so you cant play ?

If thats the case then all you need to do is update your custom firmware 5.00 m33 to the latest 5.50 Gen d3, then the game will play fine ( altough i have not tryed with a UMD , but it worked fir me from an ISO on my memory stick )

ALso dont forget to enable the UMD driver in your recovery menu since you are playing from a UMD ( Hold R when you power on the psp to go in recovery mode )

for anyone wanting to play little big planet on psn i found this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1874 please note that this is only for a select few games, and will not give you the ability to access psn for any other reason.
