alright, so if i upgrade to gen firmware, i can play the little big planet UMD, and i don't need to use a pandora battery to upgrade to gen firmware if i already have 5.00 m33-6 firmware?

You'll need a pandora only if you accidently upgrade to official firmware and you want to have custom firmware again yep.

does it only work on gen b, or can i get gen d (or d2 or whatever)? and what you are saying is that i won't need to decrypt any eboots or anything, just upgrade to gen b or d or whatever and pop the lbp umd in, and it will be ready to play?

No, i didnt. Its a known fact that this game doesnt work anymore with psnabler. It has worked for a little while but sony patched it.
