PSP won't load save game data

I have a fat PSP currently unmodded so that I can play the new gran turismo. I was playing the game for a couple of weeks with no problems. I went to turn it on today and the game loads as though I have never played it. When I look at my memory stick it shows a saved game but it will not load that saved game. I can't find any way IN the game to load it, and I tried it on another psp and transfered to another memory card. Is this saved data screwed? It does not give me any error like corrupt data, just pretends it is not there.
