250 gig Hard Drive Hack - #Afterdawn360's Live Chat First Major Accomplishment!

Hello All!
The live chat for Afterdawn360 has had its first major accomplishment!
We can confirm that the 250 gig hard drives can have their HDDSS.BIN file dumped from a legit 250 gig MS harddrive, and put on a hacked WD hard drive, and be recognized by the Xbox 360!
Right now we are not releasing the hddss.bin file, but are confirming that it does work!

I am guessing the reason is that the guy who made the 'hack' happen doesn't want the serial of the 250GB hard drive he bought being distributed to the whole of the intarweb. As soon as somebody comes around who doesn't give a rip, a HDD SS will be released, most likely.

Yea its going to effect unlicensed memory cards, and I thought i read something about usb devices. Although I'm not sure if there are even usb memory devices.

Yes i know that, such devices as datel memory cards. MS said USB devices will not be affected such as usb memory sticks or USB external Hard drives.
I want to know if it affects these hard drives like the 120 WD BEVS made into a 360 HDD for game content. IF it does affect those drives then this new discovery might only be usefull for people that play offline only. Thats the reason why i never got a custom HDD for my 360 cause i figured they would be able to identify them easily someday.

At this point MS has only taken action against Datel memory cards.
The can of worms is open, however, and nobody knows what's next.

I could very well be wrong but the way I see it is Modded hdd is user done and kinda tolerable. It is mostly for the user to get more space for storing there xbl content on. Therefore MS making money from points being used to download the content.
The max memory is from a company that made the memory unit without paying for the rights to sell it and a bit beyond what a user is doing when modding a hdd. I do think MS should either make larger memory units or allow someone else to. Or better yet open up the usb ports in an update to use flash drives and card readers for storage of xbl content.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe it had anything to do with modding gamerscores, etc, as you can do that using any memory card or HDD. Where did you read that?

MS said in an offcial statement they were banned due to cheating and gamerscore fraud. I dont just make stuff up willy nilly

That'll be due to not wanting the site attacked by MS. Talking about this stuff is one thing, stickying something that gets around MS microcode/firmware/whatever it's called is another thing altogether..

Not to be rude but why do we have sticies for copyi g games or hacking the firmware then? Seems to me that hacking the firmware is worse than allowing a person to upgrade the hardware.

I hear you, it's just that this one is a little too contraversial for my tastes. Also i have to admit to not being knowledgable enough on consoles, more often than not i'm the only Mod who regularly patrols these parts, i do the best i can though :)
