In IMGBurn my drive is listed as Tsscorp CDDVDW TS-L632N. I want to change the booktype to successfully burn .dvd image at 2.4x and dont wanna waste dvd's.
My question is what do i classify this as? BenQ,LG, Lite-On,NEC,Plextor, Ricoh, Samsung, in the IMG menu? when i try to change the booktype.
Is changing the booktype really necessary to complete a successful burn?
please any help is appreciated my media is DVD+R-DL 8x i have 5 only
i am gonna use IMG burn to burn the .dvd at 2.4x hopefully with a dvd-rom booktype if you all say its needed and help me.

TSSCorp is Samsung BTW. The booktype does need to be DVD-ROM.
I wouldn't assume that 2.4X is the best speed for that media/drive though. Forcing slow burns on media rated at higher speeds can actually lead to worse quality burns so it's not true that 2.4X is always the best speed. It can be, but there's so much variation that you'll never know unless you do some scans of discs burned at different speeds to find the best speed, therefore recommending 2.4X as "the best" speed no matter what the circumstances is just rubbish.
