with verbatim MKM001 i got my max PI down from 120 to 17 by turning on OverSpeed and burning at 4x.
I have the ihas124(Burner Max) hooked up to a VIA6421(raid) card and was getting pretty bad results before trying to burn at 4x.
i tried quite a few different burns on MKM001 with different settings and i get best results with:
FHT:on, OHT:off, OS:on, SB:on, 4x speed

Does this help with the 2nd layer? My first layer is great, but the 2nd is where it gets high. I would love to burn at 4x because that what i used to do, but my current sitting are not allowing it to burn at 4x.

yeah same here, my 2nd layer was really bad. I read about trying 4x and it worked like a charm. turning on OverSpeed removes the restriction so setting it at 4x works.

Wow these settings were money. Only thing i did different was clear all the setting, then cleared the OPC history, rebooted, and enabled these settings and burned at 4x.
This is what i got with KProbe.
PI max = 14 AVG = 0.69
PIF max = 3 AVG = 0.07

I tried these settings and finally can burn pretty good backups with my leftover mkm-001 disks. The worst two I got were these, are they still acceptable or coasters?
