Burning XBOX360 Games (iso / dvd)

I use CloneCD to burn my xbox360 iso/.dvd files - but lately everytime I try to burn one it says the Verbatim DVD is not large enough (its DVD+R DL 8.5gb disks) and that I will have to either try to Overburn the image, or select a larger media to burn it onto.
I selected Overburn but I dont feel comfortable with this.. The DVDs are VERY expensive and do not want to risk any loss or wasted DVD.

What is going on and why are they not the right size to fit onto the DVD?

Example of the .dvd file:
Quote:
LayerBreak=1913760
driver_0800.iso

Read the first post in this thread and it'll answer all of your questions: -

As for your example .dvd file, that was clearly made by someone who doesn't know what they're doing as they've used the layerbreak from an XGD2 game for an XGD3 game, assuming that game is Driver: San Francisco. The layerbreak for XGD3 games should be 2133520.

If you want to burn 100% of the ISO to disc, then yes.

And no if you want to take the chance of playing a 97% burned, un-safe for Live copy.

You can burn games on 1 disc. Download the latest version of ImgBurn and when it asks you, select the truncate option. That'll burn about 97% of the ISO to the disc. For almost all XGD3 games (the ones that are too large to fit on a disc when burned normally) that'll work fine and you can still install them to your hard drive and play as normal. Only the new Forza has an issue at the moment.

That isn't really the best thing to do moving forward, cos it's better to buy one of the LiteOn burners you need for Burner Max, so you can burn 100% of the ISO to disc, but if you're already banned it's not going to make much difference as long as the game plays.

lol. That is a pet hate of mine on forums. You write a detailed reply and the person clearly doesn't read it. If English isn't someone's first language, then fair enough, but sometimes I do wonder why I've bothered to try and help someone, haha.

I just didnt understand what he meant when he said "install onto your harddrive", i thought he ment put the game physically on the harddrive of the xbox 360.. im new to all of this - i paid to have my xbox 360 flashed with the newest ixtreme firmware; but I have been trying to burn the games myself with no luck (except for old games; xdg2?)

I know you all are saying I need a new DVD burner, but on xbox-scene I found a couple threads thay said I could try
Quote:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Burning XGD3 Info With ImgBurn
----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Go to Write tab and ensure Layer Break is set to Calculate Optimal
2. So on the startup screen again, press Write image file to disc
3. Choose your .dvd file in source and press Write (x2.4)
4. You?ll get a message saying there isn?t enough space, don?t mind that and say Yes
5. Also you?ll get another message that Layer Break exceeds L0 capacity. Say Yes
6. Now you?ll get an error, ignore that and just press Continue and let the writing process start
7. After some time you?ll see that the layer changed at 2,086,912. That?s normal
8. At 97% you?ll get an error, ignore it as well by pressing Cancel
9. After the error you immediately get a message to close the disc,
says Yes to that, let it finalize the disc.
So i did.. imgburn will burn the iso/dvd file and complete the the burn process 100% - but when I try to check the newly burnt game/DVD-DL - my computer says its still blank??
