Error: 280 programming blocks 200 -3FF

#1 23 Feb 2010 @ 15:56
So I successfully dumped my nand 3 times and all matched. When I start to write XBR3, all is good until it gets to block 200 and errors out the rest of the way! I triple checked all my solder joints and they are all good. Haven't powered it up to check it yet, was hoping to get some answers here. I have a Falcon motherboard by the way. Help please!!!

i'm all for it xbl games on a handset. i can finally play something else besides solitaire while taking a dump now... AND get achievements at it!!!

A little update, after the flash I powered up my 360 and I got the RROD and no video! It powered up like it was going to boot but instead red ringed. So I powered down, flashed my original nand, injected my kv and config back into the xbr bin and tried flashing xbr back and it got past the 200 block with no errors. I had to rush to work so I don't know if it flashed all the way, we'll see when I get home tonight. But it's kinda weird that it flashed through with no problems the seconf time, I wonder if the circuitry needs a little juice to get started or something.

I had one like this, see my post Bad Block When Taking A Dump

I have found, that sometimes a block is corrupt and when you erase or write over it, it can be recovered.

One thing, I noticed you still flashed anyway with a bad block, would never recommend doing that.

miketrev, thanks for the reply. I know it's not good to flash with bad blocks, but I figured flashing my original nand would overwrite any bad blocks. I got home from work and xbr flashed all the way with no errors. Put the box back together, connected everything, powered up and VIOLA!!! IT WORKED!!! I am running xexmenu and loading up some games as I type. If anyone is having this issue I recommend erasing the nand and try flashing it again, it worked for me.
