Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Fail to initializing aspi or spti interface - XBC 2.9

#1 28 Aug 2009 @ 9:52
I have been scouring the net and seeing I am not the only one who has gotten this error. I'm wondering how to fix it. Can anyone help? As soon as I launch XBC this error pops up and then the program opens. It will not show any of my drives in the drop down however. I am using Vista, which I thought was the problem. I have read other people are having the same issue with XP and also with older versions of XBC. Any suggestions?

I've done a little more research. Looks like it might be something due to having Vista 64 bit. Does anyone know of another ripping app that might work better? I use imgburn currently to make my back ups and have no issues with that. I'm assuming I cannot use that to rip with though.

Assuming your using a Kreon Flashed Sammy DVD drive, you can try to use Schtrom360Xtract

Find it under "ISO Tools"

Make sure to choose whole disk Xtreme 3.0 (SplitVid), choose a location to extract the files, and click [Extract]

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about using that. I'll try it out. Yes, I am using a Kreon flashed Samsung drive.

Also after ripping the game... make sure to run the ISO through abgx (Autofix 3.0) before burning

Yup, I always use ABGX.
