Full HD and Gotsent

#1 11 Feb 2010 @ 22:05
I have been trying to convert a full hd clip from its mkv container to mp4 for x box 360 playback. The file inside is in vc-1 format. After the conversion instead of x box 360 complaint mp4 an avc file is produce which neither my computer nor the 360 recognize.
So i tried using Xvid4psp and sure enough it does produce an mp4 file however its doesnt play on my 360 and always gives a playback error.
I am still a newb in the conversion arena and Gotsent has always worked for me converting 1080p files however it seems to be an issue now. Any advice? the info for the mkv is provided

I always used XenonMKV it's pretty much the same as gotsent, but purely designed for 360, may be worth a shot?

I'm just using windows media centre to play my MKV's direct now.

Thankyou FrostyBk

I will try both of your methods and give you an update. Tiversity also failed to stream the converted mp4. Lets see how this goes

Did you select the Transcode all button in TVerity's settings?

Actually no the transcode setting is on "only when needed"
However my 360 does detect the mp4 file just fails to play giving a system error. But ill also test it out with the "always" option

I think that TVversity sees its as a mp4 file and thinks its OK, but it could be a incopatable bitrate etc.

Let us know how you get on.

BTW, another good streaming server proggy is Twonky

Unfortunately XenonMKV failed to convert it into readable mp4. An error related to Mp4box comes up and fails to write the file. My last resort would be try streaming it directly
