ok before every says go look online what not i have been, still am but i hit i think a unique problem. so i find some stuff online about port forwarding (specific ports because finding different answers online) but problem is when i go into my WRT54GL router and set the port forwarding
example

i have to set ip at the end, this one happens to be 192,168,1,100 so just set up static ip done it before how i used to have it setup but when i do this my 360 cant see my switch which its connected to which is inturn connect to my pc that is using "internet connection sharing" and that pc is connect wirelessly to the router.
so is it possible to do port forwarding without using static ip and if not how do i static everything so it will work?
Crude Network layout drawing

soon as i had an static ip to my 360 my pc doesn't see it through switch. never used a switch till just recently so this may be my problem please help...

Sharing the wireless PC internet connection might make it a bit harder to get an open NAT. Try disabling the firewall of the PC and re-test the NAT on the XBOX 360.

lol now im trying to set everything from static ip and going back to automatic i cant even get my 360 to connect to my pc anymore. dont know what the hell i did or what setting i hit but jesus this sucks.
can ping my switch but my xbox appears not to be able to see switch. and when i try connect 360 to pc i can see lights on the switch blinking, so 360 sees switch but neither one can see each other after they hit the switch

ok im fresh out of ideas on what the do and starting to get really pissed. i dont know WTF i did but for some reason when i plug my switch back up fails to automatically obtain an IP. if i assign it one, and this is part i REALLY dont understand, i can ping it but i cant ping the router anymore BUT can still access the internet through the router. how the hell is that possible that i can access internet through it but cant ping the router UNLESS i dont manully assign an IP to the switch. Im assigning the IP address that the manual that came with the switch(DLINK DES-1105)said to.
when i first got switch all i did was plug it in and worked now its not so i uninstalled/reinstalled NIC drivers, and reset my router to default setting and STILL isnt working after this. reset everything to the way it was when i first got the damn thing. Any help would be really REALLY helpful.

right but what setting am i suppose to mess with? and at this point i cant do anything if i cant even get my 360 and pc to see each other. if i plug the switch or the 360 directly into the pc just get a bubble that pops up saying "limited or no connectivity" i have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers for nic.
its like my switch and 360 are not getting an ip but if i manually assign one to switch i can ping router anymore and when i give the 360 one it doesnt see it at all (the pc i mean) just dont know what i did due to the fact i have resetup everything ans still getting same problem.

That is one random screwed up network, why not plug your switch into the router?
If I were you I would steer well clear of Inernet Connection sharing through a PC, that just causes all sorts of headaches.
Also, you are talking about pinging your switch? I very much doubt you have a L3 managed switch in your setup, so how are you pinging it and are you sure of the device that is responding?
Also where is your DHCP server? Have you setup the PC to dish out IP addresses? You'll have problems with DHCP if you're expecting an IP address from your router through ICS!

Your right it is one screwed up network but its only thing that has worked for me and now my tiring to fix what i thought would be a easy fixable problem turned in to it not working period and i dont know what it did.
first off, i would like to plug router right into the 360 but this isnt an option, nether is running cable to router or plugging switch into router. where the router is at is where it HAS to be there is no other option. using internet sharing + switch was the last option i wanted to do but run out of other ideas to do.
second sorry for confusion when i follow the instructions that came with switch, it says assigning ip to the switch. What i am doing is just physically giving ip to the local area network that it is pluged into the back of the pc. I follow the instructions that came with it. says it should be able to auto obtain ip info but this is problem im having as its not, and so following instruction i set the following up on the switch or local area port
IP: 192.168.1.10
subnet 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1(my router ip)
primary DNS 192.168.1.1(the instructions says to use same IP as router)
third im no networking genius or anything close. i just know what i know which could be next to nothing. so i always thought it was DHCP that assigns the IP and that it was assigned by router. i have DHCP selected by my router, but if i need my computer to assign the ip i will do so if i knew where. What i do know is that when i have local area network that my switch is plugged into it doesnt automatically get a IP assigned to it or at least my understanding as to why im getting this "limited or no conectivity" when i plug it in to back of my pc. But if i maually assian an ip to that local area network(using same example as above) i no longer get that message. so seems to me that is just not getting an ip when i try to auto obtain it and whatever i have to do to get it to do so i will try. this was working till i tried to fix this NAT moderate issue with some online guides. try to do port forwarding that i got from some sites and give everything a static ip but hit some issues then when going back to auto obtain IP and now 360 cant connect to pc let alone the internet. all other computer in the house using the router are working fine and are set to auto obtain. so im able to get on the internet to get help from anyone who can.
sorry for all the text trying to be as descriptive as possible and if what i said makes no sense i will try again. just want to get back on live even if i have to deal with the NAT moderate issue.

easiest way would be to get a wireless adaptor for your 360 and go straight to the router, or you could get a wireless access point and plug your switch into that, then plug 360 and PC into the switch!

make sure your routers firmware is up to date. i had this problem with my netgear router, and a simple update resolved my NAT issues.

Although my network is nowhere as convoluted as yours I had the same problem, and the same router. I simply enabled upnp in the router configuration, allowing only the 360. This resolved my NAT issues.

I have the same router, although I don't have it set up in the same way you do as I'm not using a switch. I had a couple of issues getting it set up with Live until I started using Tomato firmware, which is free for certain types of Linksys routers.
http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato
If you give it a go, just make sure you install the correct version for your router, and do a full reset of the router after the initial installation (which means you'll have to set up your network from scratch). I'm not sure why you need that switch though, as the router has 4 ethernet ports on the back.
Also: -
Quote: IP: 192.168.1.10
subnet 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1(my router ip)
primary DNS 192.168.1.1(the instructions says to use same IP as router)
The highlighted part is what caused Xbox Live not to work at all in my case, as I also entered in the IP address of the router originally. Doing that worked for PSN on the PS3, but not for Live on the 360. What did work is entering in the primary and secondary DNS addresses used by my ISP (194.168.4.100 and 194.168.8.100 in my case), so find out what the settings are for your ISP and give those a try. In fact, I'd try that before doing anything else.

ill try this soon as i get home from work, and reason im using switch is because router has to be where its at as i have said few time through this post and i waiting on some cable to arrive i ordered to connect a second pc in basement to the switch just due to the fact that that wireless card is really weak and gets crappy signal. but has nothing to do with this issue and right now only xbox is connected to it.

Nice one, i missed the Tomato reference earlier. I've never used Tomato, i would have suggested DD-WRT as that's what i use.
Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W
Network ~ DD-WRT ~ 2node WDS/WPA ~ Buffalo WHR-G54S. 4node WPA2/AES ~ WRT54GS v6 (inc. WEP BSSID), WRT54G v2, WRT54G v3.1, WRT54G2 v1, WRT54G v5. *** Forum Rules ***

No worries mate. Glad it worked for you.
As for your NAT issue, you could try setting up a static IP address for your 360 and then forward the ports that Xbox Live uses (ignore the Soulseek one :D): -

Obviously you have to set the internal IP address to match whatever IP you give your 360.
If after forwarding the ports it still doesn't work and you're using a third party firewall, try temporarily disabling it. If Live works properly, then you'll need to create some custom rules to allow that traffic to pass through the firewall.
