Halo Reach - Purchased Download

#1 17 Nov 2011 @ 0:05
Hi all,

I purchased Halo Reach from Amazon and the seller sent me a code to download the full version.

Here is my questions:

I have downloaded the full game. Can I also copy this game to another xbox 360 hard drive?

I am afraid if my current xbox 360 dies. I want to copy the game to my other xbox 360.

So how do I copy the game to another xbox 360?

cheers

You can re-download anything you've bought from Xbox Live an unlimited number of times.

The only limitations are these: -

1. On the console the game was originally bought on, it can be played with any gamertag, online or offline.

2. If you re-download the game to another console, it can only be played when you're signed into Xbox Live with the gamertag used to purchase it.

The only exception to 2 is if you do a license transfer from one console to another.

So yeah, unless Xbox Live disappears or your gamertag gets banned, you'll always be able to re-download the game if you need to. If you've got a large enough USB stick, you can also copy the game to that, then copy it to your other 360's hard drive. That'll save you having to re-download it on the second console.

Thanks!

So if I download it to one of my xbox 360. then if I want to play it on another xbox 360 I have to do a license transfer? Or just sign into with my xbox-live game tag?

cheers

To play it on the second console, you just need to be signed into Live with the gamertag you used when you first downloaded it. You can do that on as many consoles as you like.

You only need to use a license transfer if you want to transfer all of your licenses from one console to another. You'd only normally do this if you were buying a brand new console and getting rid of the old one (or if it broke or whatever).

In other words a download is linked to:
1: The console it was downloaded on.
2: The profile used to download it.

One of those two things has to be present when trying to play it.
