Hi! Please help a disabled console gamer from Southeast Asia.

I've got a modded fat xbox 360 (jasper) and I never attached it online for Xbox Live.

Before this problem it could play backups of Halo Reach, Modern Warfare 2 and other XGD2 games. Then I had it updated by the tech I bought it from so I could play the early XGD3 titles like Dark Souls, NBA 2K12, and Modern Warfare 3 and they played well but then I found out I couldnt play Halo Reach (my favorite) anymore. Its been detected by the console as unsupported disc!

Feeling depressed I tried to play a burned copy of Halo 4, it asked for game update so I complied but then It didn't play and it was detected as unsupported disc too!

I panicked and tried to play the early XGD3 titles like Dark Souls, NBA 2K12, and Modern Warfare 3 but they got the same rejection as well but the XGD2 titles except for Halo Reach and MW2 played.

So I tried the www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRDIpCMehbc system update removal trick, and it removed the Halo 4 update and enabled me to play the early XGD3 titles again but still no joy on Halo Reach.

So how can I play my backup of Halo Reach again??? If I buy original retail copies of Halo Reach and Halo 4, will my modded Xbox 360 be able to play them? Can I use the system update removal trick after playing Halo 4 to enable me to play backups again?

Take it to a modding store and get them to update your firmware to LT3.0 and your games should work after

A friend has offered to sell his original genuine retail copies of Halo Reach and Halo 4. Can my console play them without upgrading to LT3.0?

You should be back on official firmware. Originals shouldn't be a problem.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

Do you mean I have to mod to original firmware?

originals never cause a problem, although if you play them sounds as if older discs will not work again, halo reach is not working because once updated those games have to be reburnt.

Newer games aren't working also, that's what makes me think he reflashed his drive back to stock.

To get backups to play again you'd have to flash the drive with either LT 2.0 or LT 3.0 depending on your drive.

he said he had it updated to play xgd3 games, i really have no idea whats going on to be honest, but his question was about originals and they should work without any issues!

Halo: Reach and Modern Warfare 2 are XGD3 titles, not XGD2. That's why they're not working.

Your console isn't flashed with the latest LT firmware and/or your games aren't properly patched with topology data.

Halo Reach and MW2 arent XGD3 games, but i think they did have ap2.5 data. Only the Beta copies of Reach were XGD3's.

Run the disc through ABGX i bet there not patched correctly. I had a couple friends with this issue. Games had bad data and worked before 3.0. Once they went 3.0 they had to patch and re-burn the games with the correct data.

Basically you need LT3.0 (Which you could have already) and ABGX verified/Patched games. With AP2.5 games, the data use to have to be patched per dashboard levels. With 3.0 it doesn't matter any more.

Then how do I patch correctly? My console can play can play Dark Souls, Modern Warfare 3, NBA 2k12, and XGD2 games except for Halo Reach and Modern Warfare 2.

Copy you games back to your hard drive. Check them with abgx. if bad let it fix them. reburn the game. I would run abgx on all your disc. if you don't know wht abgx is google abgx360.

I know how to do that but I don't know how to patch Halo Reach to enable it to play in my XBOX 360.

Rip your backup to a ISO. Run your ISO through ABGX. ABGX will patch the iso if its messed up. If its bad ABGX will tell you and PATCH it. You will have to reburn the iso if ABGX PATCHES it. ABGX.

If they are fine ABGX will tell you there fine by it being all green. If ABGX says there fine then you'd need to figure out what flash is on your Xbox. Start with checking your games with ABGX. ABGX is the easiest first step to try. ABGX.

You can run just your disc through ABGX with out ripping it. But ABGX can't patch a already burned game. You will have to reburn ether way if its bad. ABGX.
