I just recently flashed my 360 with ixtreme 1.6 and I burned a couple games on my laptop using TDK and memorex dvd+r dls and they worked fine but then i tried it again after uninstalling dvd decrypter and installing imgburn and i got the unreadable disc error after pressing "play 'game name'" and so i read somewhere that it could be my burner.. so i went to my desktop installed dvd decrypter (imgburn didnt work kept getting stuck at 94% when it tried to finalise the disc) and it burned ok. i put it in the 360 and it played for a decent amount of time but then i got the unreadable disc error again! originals work fine and my older backups work ok. and it cant be the media cause i have tdk and memorex working. it cant be the burner cause ive tried two different burners. so im starting to think its a fw issue. please, any help would be greatly appreciated!

umm, yes it can be the media, i have games that refuse to play on a memorex disc. buy guess what they play fine on verbs. quit being cheap, and do it the right way.

maybe you got lucky and had a good batch of cds and now you are seeing the true effects of the media, i dunno. but i am telling you what i know. take it or leave it. that fact that you cant finish a burn is a dead giveaway! dont you think you should look into that first!?!?

Have you ran your backups through ABGX gui, this will make sure they are bootable.

If your still having problem after this, I would recommend a full reinstall of windows as your OS maybe corrupt.

yes it said everything was ok.

but what does my os have to do with the games not working?

would the os cause the burns to go bad?

You mentioned that you did a few installs / un-installs of software and that's when it started failing. You've already eliminated your DVD Burner, Disk and your Xbox so there are only a few possibilities left.

Also it sounds as you have a PC problem somewhere otherwise why would IMGburn get stuck?

After you have a fresh installation of you OS, install IMGburn from fresh and give it a try.

i just found out something that might be my problem.. when ive extracted the iso i never saw the dvd file with it but somehow when it was done extracting it was there. now i just figured out that ive been extracting from the second volume. does it matter which volume i extract from? cause when i clicked on volume 1, i found the dvd file. is this my problem?

you need to burn the .dvd file, img burn makes sure of this for the most part, and ABGX should have corrected that, or at least metioned it to you.
