Well most of you already have been asked this question but i seem to have the wrong power adapter for my xbox 360 elite. My question was is it necessary that i go buy a new one, or is there some way that i can remove the little piece in the middle and make it work for me?

There was a indepth thread on this not to long ago, i think the conclusion was that it does supply enough power so you could use it.
