the banhammer just hit me as i was playing the left 4 dead 2 demo. Anyways the xbox 360 is an elite with 120 gb hard drive and comes with 40+ plus back-up games all of the new ones included. How much do you think i can sell this xbox with all the games and 1 controller on craigslist

wow..you going to sell burnt games on CL....talk about stupid. banned console is only worth around 80 bucks, tops. hard drive around 50. games nothing. controller 25.

You only just got banned now? Did you stay offline during the ban wave? I'm just wondering if the ban wave is still going on, or whether you got banned a few days ago and have only just found out. Which country are you in?
EDIT - Just looked on Xbox-Scene. It seems the bans in Europe have just started.

Well he says that he was playing the L4D2 demo which came out after the ban wave last Friday AFAIK. That means that he was hit in a second wave otherwise he would not have been able to download the demo to begin with.
Interesting.
EDIT: I just logged in to check. I'm in the EU and not banned.

I believe the demo was leaked early and he may have acquired it online and played it pre-release. It is possible that he just now has connected to Live since the first wave.

i didnt get the demo before it was released i downloaded the l4d2 demo yesterday from xbox live and today when i went to play it it told me i was console banned,.

The demo wasn't leaked early. It just wasn't available globally. Imo, MS wouldn't ban someone for playing a demo seeing how demo's will play on all consoles, not just modded consoles.
As for that hdd, it isn't worth squat anymore being sold with that Elite. Now that the console is banned, you can't use the hdd for game storage anymore, remember.

Obviously he wasn't banned for playing the demo. He just happened to be playing the demo when the ban hit.

Yes you can. My friends console got banned for being modded and he just swapped it and used his old HDD works fine and he is online.
Don't be ignorant and just post what you WISH would happen.

no thats ignorant
the new ban made the xbox unable to use HDD to install games. It doesnt matter how many HDD you buy it wont install games on them period. the HDD isn't banned, its the XBOX.

Ignorant? bhetrick was stating that you can no longer install the game onto the hard drive. Not use it for game saves. Have your friend try and install the whole game onto the HDD and let us know if that works.

Can anyone help me figure this out? My son just bought a 360 from a guy on cl for 150 bucks from some guy and this morning it was banned for being modded? will microsoft take it back and unmod the thing for us? I have no idea whats going on, my son only just started playing with only one game and it is real! we had the hard before we got the box because his old one red ringed! Are they scamming us into buying new consoles?
Please! Help me out
