Installing xbox image browser

#1 24 Jan 2012 @ 7:26
Can anyone help me with this? I am trying to install xbox image browser and I get an error message. In the readme file, it shows how to bypass the error, but I don't understand how to do it. I am a newbie at this, can anyone help me do this?

NOTE:

If your getting an error in windows 7 (or other os) with mscomctl.ocx which
is stopping backup creator from running then try this

Get the mscomctl.ocx whether zip/rar form or whatever, extract to( C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. ) LEFT CLICK ON "Command Prompt" and choose "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR"
this is important, RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR ok got that good, then use "CD C:\Windows\system"
NOT \system32
Then "regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx"

Basically, you are running a command to run "regsvr32" on the "mscomctl.ocx" file.

So open the start menu, and in the search bar type in cmd, and command prompt will show up. Right-click on it, and select Run As Administrator. Ok, then make sure that the mscomctl.ocx file is in the C:\Windows\System folder. Now in Command Prompt type in CD C:\Windows\System, and that will open that directory. Then simply run the command regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx and if all is setup properly, you should have Xbox Image Browser working properly!

Hope that helps out!

Sorry, Im not really understanding what you are saying... Do you mean to click the start button? When I do that, I get a search button, and when I search in files and folders for cmd, I come up with a system folder. But when I select run as administrator, I get a pop up saying that 'login failure user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank password are not allowed...' I am logged into the administrator account but I do not have a password on it.

I am sorry for all the questions, but I am confused on all this.

note;; I was able to get into the c:\windows\system32> but unsure of where to go from here.

ok. i figured out all the previous stuff. But now when I open XBox Image Browser and click file and select my image (game) it tells me 'reached end of file' retry or continue.... that is as far as I get. Is there something that I am missing?
