Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Read more about the update and let us know what you think!

Is there a way to look at the XBox 360 build date and determine if it has a hackable drive or not?

Well, I got an Elite with a build date of July 17th. I ordered the parts needed to reflash the system but before I could, I got the Red Ring of Death. I owned it for less than a month so my brother in law brought it back.

So now I had a few choices. All the Elite versions had build dates of August 21st and newer. There was an arcade version with a build date of July 19th. I wasn't sure which to chose so I am waiting another day.

From what I read here, there are 2 different Lite On drives and one of them can't be hacked. Is there a way to look at the manufacture date of the XBOX 360 and be sure that I got a hackable drive?

What is the difference between dates of your XBOX 360's manufacture date and the date of your Lite On Drive?

What do you guys think?

what i would do is just open it with heat gun and just be careful not to damage warranty sticker. that way if it is a bad liteon you can seal it up and do what u will with it. i dont know of any way to determine what liteon you got.

I am here standing. I never sit.
