Modded 360 yesterday can i unmod and not be banned?

i just had a friend mod my 360 and have never signed in to live or made an account if i have him flash it back to the orig firmware can it still be banned? it is a jasper edition. i just bought it new and would hate to have dropped 200$ just to get banned in a couple weeks.

It just depends on if you've done anything "wrong", like play a bad backup, play a game before it was released. It doesn't matter if you haven't connected to Live yet, because the 360 stores that type of info, and will send it to Microsoft whenever you do decide to connect to Live, whether you go back to stock firmware or not.

If you go back to stock firmware, you can only play retail discs. So instead of having your friend put it back, just go ahead and use retail discs anyway.

If you're only going to play originals then flash it back to the stock firmware if you can, because nobody knows how MS are detecting people and this ban wave has been especially bad. Maybe they really can detect the firmware? Nobody knows 100%. I don't think you can go back to stock firmware with a Lite-On though, which is what your drive will be if you only just bought the console.
