So I was sitting here using my 360(made in July of 2008), all of a sudden it shut off on me, and gave me the RROD.... but this wasn't like any RROD I've read about, so I was wondering if anyone could help me...

The 360 had I believe 3 of the 4 quadrants lit up red as is the norm, but they were flashing really fast, and at the same time that was flashing, the green circle in the middle of the power button was flashing on and off as well.

I turned it off, turned it back on, and it gave me the 'usual' RROD, I turned it off, unplugged the internet cable and my memory card, plugged it back in, and it worked. I plugged in the memory card, and it gave me the RROD I described first.

Then I turned it off, turned it back on with the memory card in, but not plugged in, and it worked fine.

Then I turned it off again, plugged the ethernet cable back in, turned it on, and it worked.

WTF is going on? Is it going to die on me, or did my 360 just have some kind of odd siezure??

Thats crazy! Never seen or heard of that. But if you have rrod again, try finding out the error code. Most of the time the code will let you know why the rrod happened.

Duck Tape is like the force. It has a Dark Side and a Light Side. And it holds the universe together.

earlier today i had my xbox opened up to fix some of my lights in it, didnt have the av cable plugged in and i had the disk drive taken out so i could move my lights around where i wanted them, i had the power on to make sure the lights worked after i moved them and i had the 4 lights blinking fast(because no av plug) and my middle button was blinking as well. im assuming the middle light was blinking because i didnt have the disk drive plugged in, so maybe yours is getting ready to crap out? not for sure, but it might be something to look into.
