non jtagable nand dump question

I have 5 xbox360 that are not jtagable with missing dvd drives and I'm wondering if I can dump the nands to get my dvd key and get one up and running that way? I'm assuming if the answer is yes then I'd just hook the nand read wires up. I'm asking because my sons good 360 got killed by lightning through the ethernet cable and now has the e76 error. Its a bummer it was the first time we hooked it to the internet to and it was way before the hurricane that came through here. It was actually a good day no warning of lightning. Figures that I'd have that kind of luck.
the thing I'm not so sure about Is I know I cant use xell or xellous to get my cpu key but do I need to to just get my dvd key from my keyvault.

I don't have a slim to do it on yet as that is the only console I'm interested in doing this hack on but my friends do have their slims running this hack already but they are the devs that created it :p
