Putting a Benq drive into a Samsung machine

#1 11 Oct 2010 @ 1:15
So here's the situation. I have an old Xbox 360 which I know originally had a Samsung drive (not liteon), but there is no longer a drive in it. It's been thrown away or whatever and so I don't have access to the original firmware. As far as I know the xbox work perfectly fine (except for there being no drive).

I want to get a new drive and install the Infectus mod chip in it. As of now I plan to get a Benq drive since those are the easiest to install the Infectus in.

I don't know if this is possible, since I don't have access to the original firmware of the drive, and I don't know if a Benq drive can be installed into what was originally a 360 with a Samsung drive.

So could I put a Benq drive into my 360? If not, can I still get a new Samsung drive and install that into the xbox?

Damn, don't think it is. It was manufactured in 2005 but I think it has already been updated to the NXE. So there's no way for me to even install a new drive into it?

nah i dont think so m8, like i said if you can jtag it the key is in the dump you take when doing this, i just read this up on xbox scene
In the event that a key cannot be obtained, it renders the associated x360 motherboard useless (at least for now). Your options are to replace your motherboard (see Xbox360 BST and obviously depending on your technical skills ), or acquire a new x360 (maybe just a Core and reuse your X360 harddrive).

Can't stress that enough.

Tutorial says:
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, SAVE YOUR KEY, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Too many people ignore this, being too anxious to get that 1st free game.
