Replacing a old xbox dvd drive with a new one

How can I get the keys off a non working xbox dvd drive so that I can install a new xbox dvd drive,both drives are liteon dg-16d2s? Thanks

just swap the boards, that way you dont have to worry with it.

When you say "non-working drive", as long as it's a mechanical issue, you can do as peluynati says and swap the PCB boards of the two drives.
The key that's on the broken drive will then be on the working drive, and match the key of the console's motherboard, so the two will work together.

Thanks, I did swap the PCB boards but the drive wouldn't open so I had to swap them back and now the new drive is opening again,that why I wondered if anybody had the step by step instuctions to take the keys off of the old motherboard and transfer them to the new motherboard.
