samsung drive issue - have read all forum posts relevant

hi there,

i have a xbox that had a GPU error, repaired but then overheated (2 Ring of death) at this point the xbox decided to eject the cd and turn off. (cd only ejected halfway)

well now i am not able to eject the drive (no motors spinning, but laser moves when powered on) in dashboard click open and states opening but all i get is flashing green power light on console.

so i decided to buy a ms28 (same drive off ebay, working ) and swap over the logic board. (tested drive from ebay, ejects ok) I swapped the board and this drive has the same fault.

so im at the conclusion that the logic board is at fault now.
but what are my options.

is there an easy method to repair - i dont necessarily want to enable backup functionality but just get 1 of the drives working.

please help asap.

thanks

i have read all the tutorials on flashing - jungle flasher, iprep, dosflash, etc.

but i dont want to flash it i want to replace the faulty one with the working one, is there a tool to clone ? if it can be done or is the logic board screwed ?

i cannot find any posts similar to mine - most people just advise to swap logic board and whey hey! what do we do if the board is screwed?

p.s - my original board has the black molten plastic covering the chips therefore rendering reading of them useless.

Id say best bet is to connect your drive to your PC and try dup the firmware. If that doesnt work, your pretty much screwed.

going to go try that now... ! wish me luck. i dont understand why MS dont allow you to change drive, caused more trouble than its worth surely locking the drives to the unit.
