STREAMING .MKV VIA XBOX 360 MEDIA CENTRE AND ONKYO 608

Hey All,

I know the title may be a little misleading.. Basically I have my xbox 360 hardwired to my router and my pc wired to my router and I am streaming .mkv videos from my xbox 360 to my Onkyo 608 Amp and then from the amp to my TV..

In order for xbox 360 to stream .mkv video files you have to install Divx 7 and AC filter along with Matroska splitter and something like this.. I have done all and it is streaming well with sound playing but not too happy with the quality.. Now here is the question. What should my AC3 settings be to get the best sound?

I checked last night and it was set for 2.0 speaker system as this is what my pc is configured for so I changed that to 3/2+1 (5.1) setup but haven't tried it out yet.. Please can someone who has a similar setup or know about this kind of setup please message me with the recomended settings in order to get the best audio quality whilst streaming media from my pc to my xbox 360 (via onkyo 608)

Many Thanks

It's best to just convert mkv's to wmv or xvid... you'll get better quality. Steaming mkvs is for the best of the best CPU's... and even those have trouble.
