ok i have a lite-on i flashed with ixtreme 1.6 and i have a samsung in another 360 which i want to put into my current system with the lite-on so..i have the dump from the lite-on still...so all i need to do is dump the sammy then get the original fw and...theres a tool to create the new fw for the drives right?...so..i use that tool [can someone tell me what it is] then i flash that fw to the drives and then from there i can put ixtreme on it?.....im a lil confused cant find a decent tut for it anywhere it seems ..although i only looked for like 5 mins

The tool is called JungleFlasher. Use it to "spoof" that Lite-On key to the Samsung.

Two questions:
1 - What did you use to flash your Lite-On with anyway?
2 - Why do you want to go to a Samsung anyway?

thanks for the reply i used jungleflasher i just read about for swapping and some people were saying things like use toolbox 3.0 and another prog i read ....and i also remember reading something about sammy's being able to play like xbox 1 backups on a just a normal dvd not the dual layer...also...wondering if you know if the towel fix/and penny trick is a permanent fix or just a temp..im fixing this for a friend and just wondering i know the penny trick works but will it fail evenutally?..he knows im swapping stuff its how im gonna get ''paid'' since i was banned and his isnt banned yet and hasnt been connected to live all year since he never uses it =)..and i do frequently...although i just wont go back on live till the scene gods figure out whats going on to prevent this wave

*EDIT to fix the rrod on the machine im thinking penny trick and reapplying thermal past to the gpu/cpu so..would i need both or just gpu cpu? and does the penny trick work thanks

i agree its probably a temp fix..im probably just gonna swap drives then ill have one up and running but the one im trading for will still have the rrod and ill order one of those cheap x-clamp fix deals...and do the penny trick too!! it will be UNSTOPPABLE! lol

The towel trick will break your xbox. The penny trick bends the board so I wouldn't recommend it to begin with. Try the x clamp fix first.

hmm..never heard of the towel trick breaking the box but the pennies bending the board makes sense and i was worried about that aswell...probably a way better idea to just wait for the xclamp fix...its saturday.......monday isnt that far =( lol

The towel trick heats up the entire xbox, possibly destroying delicate components at the same time. It works, but only for a few days.
