Hi Guys
My disc drive looks like a BenQ, but when I took it to a guy to flash to LT2 he told me it was not a Benq althought it looks identical. Can anyone please let me know what other options it could be as i simply cant remember what he said and also cannot get hold of this guy no more...........????
Thanks

BenQ and LiteOn drives look the same as they have the same cut out in the disc tray, but you can tell the difference between the 2 by removing the faceplate and looking at the colour of some wires.

The other option, of course, is to open the case and have a look. If you're going to flash it, you'll need to do that anyway.

you will need jungleflash,
connectivity kit or use your xboxs power which i dont recommend,
PCI SATA Card w/ VIA VT6421A Chipset For Xbox 360
etc,
but in all if your gonna do some more xboxs in the future i just use Maximus lizard

If it's a BenQ, it's one of the easiest to flash. I used to flash mine with no special tools. I just hooked it up to a SATA port on my motherboard, although that won't work with all mobos.
For LiteOns (and flashing in general), I would also recommend the Lizard. It costs about as much as paying twice for someone to flash your console, so in the long term it's worth it. In the 6 months or so since I bought mine, LT+ 1.9, LT+ 2.0 and LT+ 3.0 were all released, so I've flashed my console 3 times with the Lizard.

Cheers chaps.............. I managed to track the guy down who flashed my current xbox. He said he will flash mine to LT+3 and my nephews for £12. Cant be bad. I just need to take the hard drive which is easy enough
