Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to upgrade an Xbox Arcade (the 256Mb model) with a non-Microsoft HD; as shown at http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=7024.
What will happen with my save files, or how will the Xbox treat the 256mb memory when there's a HD connected. Will it just ignore the old HD and start using the new?
I think it probably will because you can buy a MS HD in stores and this will work on your Xbox, but I'm just checking it here to see if anyone's familiar.
I will of course have to buy a cheap ebay 20Gb Hd so I have the SATA/POWER connector for Xbox.

the xbox will see both the memory and the HDD.
when you will try to save or load it will give you both option.
I upgraded my arcade to 250gb for under 100$
cost of my hdd was 69$ and the enclosure is 15 on ebay , too me 5 min to prepare the HDD.
