Site update - March 16th 2010

AfterDawn.com has been updated! In addition to renewing the layout of the site we have also speeded up things considerably. The new version has been tested on our Finnish site for several months, and during the testing we have managed to improve the new version even further.

You can now enjoy this new layout at English AfterDawn.com and English Discussion Forums as well! We have also introduced new sections to the site, and re-arranged things a bit.

Verbs MII or MIS, any difference?

#1 01 Nov 2009 @ 13:49
Just saw a good deal at futureshop, 30pack 8X for 40 bucks, but i'm pretty sure they are MII's. Haven't checked yet, but last time the 8x were MII's and i never bought them.

So i have 2 questions, has anyone noticed a difference in the Indian ones? and Can I still burn at 2.4x even though they are 8x? Because my regular dvd-r's that were 16x wouldn't let me burn at 4. So I'm just curious.

Thanks guys.

The MII ones are made from the same materials in the same way, just in a different place.

The speed you can burn at depends on the drive and the drive's firmware. I can't burn 8X rated Verbatim discs at 2.4X on either of my Optiarc drives, but why would you want to do that? If you want to burn discs at 2.4X for some reason, just buy the older 2.4X rated discs.
