yes it will play it but you need the activate.iso disk

Is it a new activate.iso disk or the same that was used when flashing the Samsung drive months ago?

Not sure, but if you have one from "months ago", just try it and see if it works. If not, then download it here.
Or just update to 1.61 firmware. Sammies & BenQs can be updated.

eebey, the file sizes are exactly the same, to the last byte.

Its the same one, AFAIK the perious firmware types didnt come with it.
