Would the AP 2.5 patch work for an Elite 360?

I have one of the older 360s (the black version with 120 GB hard drive). It has a BenQ drive with Ixtreme 1.61, so no activation disc is needed. I, like others, have updated the dashboard without realizing that it would stop some backups from working. I have tried Fable III, but keep getting an unreadable disc message, so yeah, my console is most likely flagged for banning.

Regardless I was wondering if the AP 2.5 patch would work, because from what I've been reading, it seems that most posts concerns the latest 360 console, rather than the older ones. Also, just to double check on something, all this LT+ I keep reading, is that a reference to the drive being used in newer consoles, or is it something else entirely?

This is all false. The firmware for new consoles hasn't even been released yet. Everyone needs to flash to LT+ and patch with abgx 1.0.4 to play ap2.5 games. This is on all consoles except for slim and consoles with samsungs and hitachi drives.

So basically my next move should be to find LT+ firmware for the BenQ drive correct? Also, as for the patch, it seems that the console needs to have JTAG, and since that requires soldering (a skill I unfortunately lack), am I correct in assuming the patch is just a dead end in this result? If so would the new firmware for the drive matter then, or would I be better off buying a used 360 that has an older dashboard, and just importing my disc drive and hard drive into the newer system?

No, you don't need to be jtagged. Just flash to LT+ and use newest abgx, end of story.
