I have a modified PS3 with multiman kmew custom firmware 3.55

I haven't played my PS3 that much, I am trying to get back into it so, I have a few beginner questions.

If you have game files backed up that require eboots to make them playable, how exactly do you handle that Eboot? From what I've read I am thinking that you copy the patch files into the game directory but I'm not entirely sure.

In general is it better to stick with MultiMan and 3.55 firmware or is it better to go with Rogero firmware?

I know these are fairly basic questions but, I'm having trouble finding the answers im looking for and I want to make sure that I am getting proper advice. I know this forum is one place that I can trust the advice i get.

resigned eboot.bin replaces the original eboot.bin.... its usualy found in the USRDIR folder.... its a good idea to make a backup of the original file before replacing it... take note that usually another file gets replaced aswell.... called PARAM.SFO as the name suggests its a parameter file tells the ps3 what kind of game it is and what kind of firmware it uses... file is located in PS3_GAME folder... if you update the game by installing a patch from the psn/sen it will not use the original eboot.bin from the game folder but use the new eboot.bin from the patch... this is a good thing if you lost the original eboot.bin and have cfw 4.21 and up... this will not work on 3.55 due to missing keys... :3

well 4.21 rogero/rebug and 4.30 rogero work better than 3.55 even the original fw is more stable than 3.55 you will notice that the ps3 will run cooler and more faster if you use the 4.xx cfw... this also solves the eboot problem as all the games up to now either use lower than 4.21 or 4.21 (^__^) so you should try the 4.21 cfw from rogero or rebug...

Thanks again for the help, I think you helped me on earlier to, in regards to what Rogero was.

So if I update to the Rogero 4.30 firmware I should have no problem running the latest PS3 games? Is it best to update multiman to the latest version as well?

As I said before I got my PS3 pre-modified. It is the best way to update it to download the latest versions of Rogero and Maltiman onto a flash drive and then install them through the games menu in MultiMan?

Thanks for the help. I have been modifying games and things like that for a while but, I always find it difficult to break into something new. I really appreciate the help, so many people would just say Google it.

updating to rogero cfw is like installing fw from sony... just prep usb flash fat32... make folder named PS3... inside that folder create folder named UPDATE and inside the UPDATE folder put the PS3UPDAT.PUP.... something like this PS3 > UPDATE > PS3UPDAT.PUP... then just use recovery(power on ps3 and keep holding power button until ps3 shuts down then power it on again holding the button until you hear 1 beep following 2 beeps) then pick if i remember correctly the 6th option i think... and it will install it take note that 4.30 can lead to a brick heck even 4.21 can do that... you been warned :3 and yes updating multiman is a good idea 4.14 is the latest...

What are the odds that the firmware will lead to a brick? Is it typically due to just a small random occurrence or is it due to a mistake in the process made by the user?

Thanks, I really appreciate all of the help you have given me.
