OK so ive had a friend on afterdawn and he asked me to post up a tutorial on how you can connect to PSN easily without if Wifi fails you and your router is far away to connect an ethernet cable to.
What you need:
- Crossover cable
- Laptop with Ethernet port
- Laptop with Wifi Access
- Call of duty 4 ( to play online and relax ) - ( no u dnt need COD4 for this guid )
- ROUTER !

1. What you wanna do is go on your laptop, since im using Vista, go to control panel, Network and internet, Network and sharing centre, To the left, under " tasks " click " manage network connections ".
2.Ok So You should see 2 things, A disconnected " Local Area connection " icon, and a " Wireless network connection " icon. So what u wanna do is bridge the connections. So what ur gonna do is rightclick and highlight both, click "bridge" then wait.
3. ( heres alil something something. If you dont see the the " LAN " connection icon, then it means u need to install an appropriate driver for your ethernet port. - if you got this, continue to step 4 )
4. Now that thats done, What you wanna do is try out the bridge so whip out your ethernet cable and plug it into both the PS3 and the Laptop ( note, your laptop must have enabled wireless internet or this wont work )
5. Switch on ur PS3 ( ...DUHHH u think i was gonna say turn it off ? ) Then before we do anything, Goo to Settings, Network Settings, and configure your PS3 internet accessibility to be " Wired " , not "Wireless" ( or this wont work ). Now all u gotto do, is set ur Ip Manually. If you want. I configured mine to 192.168.1.4 - DNS is, 192.168.1.1 , same as 2nd DNS and default gateway. Then Skip all the way to the end by setting everything else to " automatic ".
6. Test ur internet connection, ndd it should all say " succeeded "

( whats really going on from my own understanding is that the signal from ur router is being transmitted to ur laptop wifi card, which bridges with you ethernet port so in other words, its shared internet.

Hope u guys are finally able to play online, i know my tutorial is crap since its my first one so if youve got any questios or anything gimme a shout. :) Good luck and happy online Gaming. ( btw alil off topic, sony jus found a way to bring back PS2 BC to PS3 consoles without the PS2 emulation hardware. http://www.ps3news.com/forums/playstatio...ips-106712.html

Well V, no basicly these adaptors work like normal hardwire mate.
Connect one to your router via an ethernet cable, and the same with the one to your PS3, there is really no setting up to do and my speeds have increased.
You can buy extra adaptors that can send wireless signals as well, but you first must have one connected as said above to your router.
Their agreat alternative to wireless and running extra cables.
