Here are my specs for you to try to copy:
-Latest PL3 (using arduino PL3/Hermes combo hex file, but with PL3 selected)
-Open Manager 2.1 Rev. I (I also installed the latest open copy that came with this)
-PS3Prox
-Internal HDD
-The update downloads and installs fine...I don't even need to download it on PC and put in on a USB stick or anything; it just works. Just to make sure we are on the same page, are you downloading the 1.01 patch, or have they released a newer one?

If you change from Hermes to PL3, you will have to delete all game data for the game. I would backup any saves for this game and delete the originals just to be sure they don't cause issues.
