Is there a way to play .TRP files with ps3 media server?

Not with the media server no.
You can convert them to a compatible format and transfer it to the ps3 or stream the converted file.

So, there is no way to stream .trp files to a ps3 without converting the file, or no way to change the codecs on the PS3 Media Server tp play .trp files?
