my ps3 wont load/makes weird sound ,worm gear? help what should i do?

okay my ps3 was working fine yesterday, i try to put a video game in it and it takes it like 30 second to slowly load in the discs(with a weird sound) then not byble sign on loading screen or anything and then i have to force it to spit out my disc...and sony are fucking assholes they wont help.
i dont got 140 dollars to spend fbomb
so what do i do???? is it the lense? cant be right i mean the disc wont load properly ..

When you say it wont load rite, do you mean it wont take the disk into the PS3 properly? Does it sound as if the Load Drive Gears are unmeshing?
btw, the "Tech" people at Sony that you call are not Tech people. They are a Call Service that can only match your problem to something on a computer screen. If it does not fit in an exact category, they have no idea what to do.

Yes. Easy too. I have not done it but it is in a very recent thread. I'll see if i can help you find it.
Something about a "Finger" that is not lodged correctly on the worm gear. Just have to put it back in place.

also blue light doesnt stay on takes disks blinks, no bubble loading screen. check video up der on my last reply
if i open it up and try to fix it and fail
could i still send it to sony so they can fix it (or do that trade up now) for 140 dollars and i just get a completely new ps3?

Opening it only voids the warenty. I assume that your warenty is out of date anyway. If you break/tear something up, there may be a problem with getting a replacement. You dont have much to loose. I could hear the worm gear jumping track. You may get lucky if you decide to operate on it.
If you send yours in, i doubt you will get yours back but will get someone elses repaired one. Thats what happened to me.
Good luck. If you repair it, take pictures and let us know how it went. You will be the expert that has to tell everyone else how to fix it.

so no one knows how to fix a worm gear? how did it become broker i havent neglected it? can it be by freak chance?
