ps3 not reading .m2ts file formats

so guys i recently bought play tv for ps3 and recorded two and a half men in that file format. inside play tv in library it plays the video but somehow when i transfer it to the home menu it dosnt play it. :( i have no idea why it does that. Any help about this would be great.
