Uninstall it and reinstall it. See if that fixes it.

Well, Larry, thanks for a very informative guide. i have a 3.4U system, and followed the guide to the letter, successfully installing the HBC. I have not yet tried to play a burned DVD though. However, the HBC turned upside down during part of the installation. Following suggestions in this thread, I removed it from the Wii Channels.

Now when I tried to reinstall it (using the directions in the guide - i.e., get to the SD card menu, and then insert the SD card, and load the boot files from it), i get the following error message:

HackMii installer v0.6
This installer can NOT continue!
There is no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii.
Please note that we will not use a fakesigned IOS due to security reasons.
Look for updated version at:
http://bootmii.org
If this is already the latest version...well,suck it.

What can i do to correct this?

thanks in advance -- Punda

Run DOP-IOS and install IOS36 without any of the hacks. Then see if it will run. After you run it and install HBC run DOP-IOS and install IOS36 again but this time patch it.

Why does the guide say we can't use micro SD card adapters? I'm about to upgrade to 4.1 and before in softmodding my wii I used an micro adapter and had no problems. What's the big deal?

Because most have issues using them.

#315 17 Oct 2009 @ 0:30
Hmm, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones then.
#316 17 Oct 2009 @ 0:50
Please don't turn this in a I use Micro-SD card + Adapter also. We all know that some have used Micro-SD cards and some have had issues. If you use it then good. Allot of other members have had issues using them. So I recommend not using them.

So lets leave it at that and leave future post to more important questions/issues and answers.

Larry, please how can I run DOP-IOS without the HBC ..as it is, the HBC is not even showing -- it is no longer in my Wii Channels, and trying to install it again produces the error above. Is there an alternative way of running the IOS files? I will go back and read the guide again..just in case I missed it...

thanks - Punda

Instead of deleting HBC from the Wii Channel, you should've just uninstalled it using Hackmii; then reinstall it again using the latter. Anyway, do you have WAD Manager installed as a channel on your System Menu?

Try doing the following.

Drag the boot.elf that is at the root of the SD card to your PC (Make sure it was transfered to your PC) then delete it from the SD card.

Now on the SD card go to the apps>hbc_dopios_v8 folder and COPY the boot.elf from that directory to the root of the SD card (Make sure you copy it so it stays in the hbc_dopios_v8 folder as well).

Now follow the instructions as you would to boot the hackmii installer. This should boot DOP-IOS so you can install IOS36 without the sig/hash Identify patch.

After you install IOS36 without the patches then you can delete the boot.elf from the root of the SD Card and drag the boot.elf (hackmii installer that you draged to the PC) back to the root of the SD card.

Now run the hackmii installer again. After installing HBC run DOP-IOS again and patch IOS36 again like it previously was.

Given that your system is already softmodded, update using Waninkoko's custom Firmware Updater
4.0 first, then 4.1.These custom firmwares should update your system leaving all your cIOSs and homebrew apps intact.

Hi guys,

I did the tutorial and after that i discovered that my wii 3.4E is half bricked.

I've downloaded the waninkoko's "Wii Config" to set up my wireless connection but it did not appear in the HBC. I did put both .dol and .elf files in Apps folder.

What can i do to fix it?

Please ask this type of questions in another thread. More then likely you updated with an out of region update which has nothing to do with this guide. As for setting up the application for HBC to find it you need a folder inside the apps folder then the dol/elf file inside that (Example apps/application folder/boot.dol/boot.elf).

I did that. I created a "Wii Config" folder with the files inside but the HBC did not recognize. Another thing larrylje, when i try to run the WSR in Neogamma, it came back to wii menu after a black screen.

As it states in the guide and at the top of the thread in a banner it says not to ask about specific game titles. Please start a new thread on these issues.
