Give me a second to update the SOFTMOD PACK. I am going to include a different Tucha Bug Restorer.

thanks for the fast reply.
I'm using the same SD card that I used on my 4.1U system. I just removed all of the 4.1 files and added the files from the 4.2 softmod pack. I'm using the same wads I got using Nus during the 4.1 mod. they are named the same so I figured they would work.
these are the same from the 4.1 guide
IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS15-64-v266.wad
IOS36-64-v3094.wad
My sd card root looks exactly how your picture shows it to.

I updated the guide with a updated Trucha Bug Restorer. Plus there are new updated WAD files that need to be downloaded.
So refresh the page.
Delete every thing off your SD Card
Redownload the softmod pack and extract the new stuff to your SD card.
Redownload the proper IOS.WAD files using NUS.
Then try the guide again. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Are you on 4.2 firmware?
As far as I know IOS222/223/249/250 should have stubs installed when updated to 4.2 firmware. So if your on 4.2 firmware I would assume you should have them in the System Titles somewhere.

As per your 4.2 guide,
"After you have finished downloading the above files you will see NUS has created 4 folders. Each folder will contain a WAD file you need to transfer to the root of the SD Card.
Transfer the following WAD files to the root of the SD Card...
IOS15-64-v257.wad
IOS15-64-v523.wad
IOS36-64-v3351.wad "
But on the print screen you have 4 WAD files.
The fourth one being: 1892 KB with NO NAME.
Would it be (just like the 4.1 guide)
IOS38-64-v3610.wad ??
Is this an oversight on the 4.2 guide (3 WAD vs. 4 WAD)

You don't need it in the version I have uploaded. This is a 4.2 firmware guide people. So expect it to be different then the 4.1 firmware guide.

I made it to the step below, when i " Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37"
i in fact got an error about it not being able to initalize. so i went back and tried it a couple more times, now all it does is lock up on "initializing network"
ive had to turn the unit off and back on to try again the last couple times
any idea?
Cheers J
Hermes' IOS 222/223:
Launch the HBC and load the cIOS 222 installer.
Press A at the warning screen.
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37.
Make sure you get installation complete. If you do not and get an error then rerun this step again.

Just registered an account to say THANK YOU.
This guide worked flawlesly. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to set up neogamme r7. I already had bannerbomb, but figure a clean SD card wipe + this guide couldn't hurt. And it didn't!!!

There have been over 250 downloads of the softmod files already. Only a few have seemed to have issues. I think it would be reassuring to others wanting to perform this guide, if others verified that the guide did work.

I'd suggest you add this into the guide (e.g. you can restore whatever you had downloaded). EDIT: It all works, even the SMB shares I set up in various places (like Snes9XGX). No muss, no fuss.

Also I'm running 4.2U without the blocked serial numbers above (if it helps others).

Thanks for the new 4.2 guide.
I went to update an already softmodded wii today and on the update it says something like
"If your Wii console contains unauthorized modification, this update may detect and remove unauthorized content causing immediate or delayed inoperability of your console. If you do not wish to accept this update you can hold down POWER for 4 seconds."
Do I go ahead anyway?

WII SYSTEM WITH 4.2 FIRMWARE: Update to 4.2 firmware if you are on 4.1 or below (including already softmodded systems).
Do you think that would be included in the guide if it wasn't safe to update?

I was just clarifying. I was not sure if maybe it was a new error because I had not seen it before.
Thank you for the response and the tutorial, I really appreciate it :)
