Got a softmodded Wii Sister has gotten (legit) Wii Fit Plus

#1 20 Dec 2010 @ 20:15
I really need help.

I have had my UK wii softmodded for way over a year now. It is running 3.4E firmware. I only use my wii for homebrew and playing some old classics and Gamecube games.

Now I have only just found out that my sister is getting Wii Fir Plus. Now the bored she is getting is not a official Wii Fit bored it is a 3rd part one (if that helps) and a legit Wii Fit Plus game.

Now am guessing as soon as she puts this game in it will ask to update? If she dose click yes on the update am guessing it will brick my wii correct?

If this is the case then how what have I got to do? I have read that you can update the wii to 4.1 (if am correct) would this let the game play?

Even if I could update the wii unofficially I really don't know how to do it. I have had a look at some tutorials and they looks confusing and hard to do.

This is what I have on my system:

Wii has firmware 3.4E.
Wii Backup Launcher
Gamma 002 Error Fix Launcher
SD USB loader
The Homebrew Channel

That is all. I still have some stuff on the SD card.
cIOS36 installer
cMIOS Installer rev3
Homebrew Browser
WAD-Manager

Please help

Thank you.

I have all consoles and Hand held consoles from 1988 to 2007.

run the game thru neogammer it ignores the update
#3 21 Dec 2010 @ 11:15
Thank you. Is neogammer the gammer 002 fix launcher I all ready have or do I have to install a launcher called neogammer.

i believe so but look for neogammer r9 its the best one. either add it to your apps or find the wad and install it as a channel thru wad manager

what the hell is neogammer? all i know is neogamma. and even that is superceded by usb loaders.

download and install priiloader, and make it block all disc and wifi updates. then download dop-mii and install all missing IOSes. you will have a lot to install since you're still 3.4.

and no, you will not brick if the disc update is accepted. you will lose all of your homebrew, until you softmod again.

Thank you tongs007 and cee43ja1.

As its only a few days before Christmas and I really don't much time at the moment. I downloaded neogamma last night as tongs007 suggested..

Now when I get time I will read up on how to install all these missing IOSes and dop-mii and priiloader as am sure i will need it in the future.

I have all consoles and Hand held consoles from 1988 to 2007.

just get neogamma 9 mate and use until you run in to probs. the way forward is running your games from a hard drive via usb to wii but neo 9 will do you fine for now. always use neo9 even for originals as i stated it bypasses the update

if you can run neogamma, then you can run dop-mii. just make sure you have the wii connected to the internet already, or else it will be a tediouos task in finding the wads.

it's not that hard to look at each IOS and see if they are updated/stubbed/not installed.

i may be pushing, but i don't provide quick fixes. i only give long term futureproofing. my wii stays on 4.1U, but can play all current games. AND i can still use the disc channel to load original discs, should my hard drive crash. no need for neogamma and it's slower 3x read speed; disc channel reads at 6x.

4.1e by the way
#13 23 Dec 2010 @ 12:05
Installing all the latest IOS is the way to go (as cee43ja1 has suggested). It doesn't matter what disc/usb loader you use, if you don't have the proper IOS installed for the game none of them are going to work.

#14 23 Dec 2010 @ 14:07
Ok well can someone give me a link or reply to me with a step by step guide on how to install all these IOS things please thank you.
#15 23 Dec 2010 @ 15:07
you don't need a guide. download dop-mii 14.5 and run it. everything is well labeled.

Thanks I will try this out tonight. One more thing after am done with this dop-mii will I have to find and download priiloader as you said earlier in this topic. Or is this included in dop-mii?

Thank you again.

priiloader is a separate app. and you will need the hacks.ini to properly disable updates.

mind you, that's for 4.x only, so you will have to update. downgrading to 3.2 is not recommended and can cause more problems.

Is there a reason you stay on 4.1u? I am still on 4.0u and could see no benefit to updating to 4.1 - Is there a benefit to bumping up to 4.1? I have current IOS files so all games load fine via disc and usbloader. Just wondered why you bothered to move up and stay at 4.1u

Thank you for all the help. I installed dop-mii and the ICOS last night. Today when it came to trying Wii Fit Plus out it worked fine.

So again thank you tongs and larry and cee43.

Now wile am here. Is it worth me updating my Wii to the likes of 4.0E or 4.01E?

Merry Christmas.

IMO, it's the most stable system menu. there are no problems with it, and all types of hacks work with it. there are minor fixes from 4.0, eventhough they don't affect me, but i'd rather not have it at all.
