I know this has been discussed in the past, but the search I did for an answer showed me a thread from 2008 I believe for the wiigator backup launcher.. I didn't know if there was any updated information on a program that plays GC backups... Can you play them at all on a softmodded Wii? USB Loader perhaps?

Gamecube backups cannot be played from a USB Loader in any case, however they can be played on a softmodded wii using a loader. There are many loaders available, however a cMIOS must first be installed to allow for GC backups to be played.
