ISO Size question - Toy Story Mania etc

#1 03 Oct 2009 @ 5:22
I have read at multiple places that ISO sizes need to be exactly
4,589,824 OR 4,699,979,776

However, some games that I got have the following size -
4,589,760 OR 4,699,914,240. These are playing ok but my question is will it cause problems later and should I get another ISO.

The games in question are - Toy Story Mania, Mini Ninjas, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and Beatles Rock Band.

I've never heard of this before but I'd say if they're working not to worry about it. If at some point down the road they stop working you could seek out new ISO's at that point, but I wouldn't waste the time right now.

If it aint broke... right?!

I have seen problems with ISOs that are not the right size.

I had problems with one of the .isos that you mentioned that was the wrong size.

My specific problem was/is that discs burnt from these .isos don't work but they run OK on softmod USB loader.

In the case of The Beatles, I made my own backup that was the correct size and the disc ran perfectly.

I modded my wii based on larry's latest guide and am using neogamma to load these games. So in my case, the DVDs so far seem to be working (a safe assumption since my son has not complained yet :-) ) and your experience is just the opposite. This is really strange.

I am hard and softmodded (using larryjle's guide). Out of habit, I always load backups through disc channel.

No joy for Where's Waldo (NTSC version). Neogamma 6 gives the GSOD. I will try USB loader next.

Update - issue resolved. Bad .iso 2nd .iso was same size (too small) but works OK.

What are the sizes of the two ISO's - good and bad?

Both .isos were 4,589,760 KB (4,699,914,240 bytes) fowever, fc (file compare) showed their contents to be different. Both were NTSC .isos.
