Nero Vision: No Audio when Burning .avi files to DVD format

I've always had no trouble burning my .avi files to DVDs using Nero that I could play on my VCR. Now that I upgraded my Nero the nero vision application seems to work, it transcodes and burns the DVDs but their is no audio. I can play the .avi files using Nero and my media player with sound, but once I transcode and burn the DVD there is no audio. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
