Session Fixin Error for 8.5gb Disk?

hi guys
i got a very weird problem
i was trying to burn the 8.5gb disk on my brand new dvd writer
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7240S
with using Nero the problem i am facing is, it burns the 4.7Gb dvd very fine with out any error but it gives me a Session Fixing Error during burning the 8.5Gb Data (unfortunately i have lost 5 dvds of 8.5gb)
i dont have a clue how can i fix it pls help me out
i am using the latest firm ware as well

weak laser, bad disc, it gotta be something
what really confusing me is this session fixing error dont occur in writing the 4.7gb dvd, it only came in 8.5gb disk

What are the DL discs that you are using? Probably Memorex? Most likely you burner's firmware is not fully compatible with those discs...
Post an error log.
See if there's a firmware update for your burner(even if it might be newly installed).
What should've been my first suggestion---DITCH Nero for burning, use ImgBurn , ESPECIALLY for DL discs...
