Srt subs display problem

    hello everybody,
i now and then come across a problem with subs: i have the avi and the srt files, i burn them on a dvd data and watch it on tv using my dvd-divx player.
Most of the times they work just fine, but sometimes they are displayed wrong, it displays the timing at the beginning and the end of the sentence and a piace of the text in the middle....like:

00:00:36,272 --> same but it feels really natural --> 00:00:40,102 (this is an example I just made up)

when this happens, most of the text is not displayed. Note that before burning a dvd I always check if the subs are in sync and correct on my cpu with VLC player. On VLC they always work fine, the problem is when they're read by my dvd-dvix player.
Now, it's pretty rare to happen but sometimes it does, but recently I downloaded a series and I have this problem with each single episode, so that's weird. I downloaded other subs, burned another dvd and the problem persits.
Can anyone tell me what this might be about? Is it possible that it has something to do with the avi files?

    thanks in advance

    Sounds like the player.
You can add the subs as a stream (selectable on/off with the remote) if you use AviAddXsubs.

(If you want to view them on the PC you have to use the free DivX Player program)
