I'm having trouble playing the subtitles for the second .avi file of a 2CD set. I'm using VLC on Ubuntu linux, 10.4. The first .avi plays fine. No matter I use an .srt file with the subtitles for the full movie or one cut back to just it's content. The second will not show subtitles at all, no matter I use the full .srt or the one with just the subtitles for the 2nd avi. I've tried renumbering the subtitles in the second file from 1 and from the relevant base, 322 in this case. No difference. No subtitles. I'd like to be able to view the movie on the computer, and I'd also like to make both a 2 CD set and a single DVD with subtitles from the four files I have : 2 .avi'ss and 2 .srt's Any help appreciated.
If you take any avi and use the second set (with the name changed)do they work. Is it possible that the second set have the wrong times listed or they have an extra space after the 520 etc.
