Unable to install VobSub 2.23

Whenever I try to install VobSUB 2.23, I receive the message "main.exe has stopped working. [...] Windows will close the program and notify... bla bla..."
Of course nothing is notified. Maybe I should add that I chose not to install the additional programs (AVG earch bar and the like, or whatever it is).

Any suggestions?

I don't think the version available from AfterDawn contains any adware.

If the only reason for installing is to support a media player, then VSFilter replaced VobSub.
