VobSub 2.23 causes Vista Media Center to crash

#1 31 Dec 2009 @ 1:39
Vobsub is somehow causing my Vista Media Center to crash. If it's disabled then the the video (.avi) plays fine. If it's set to 'load when needed' or 'load automatically' it crashed Media Center, most of the time before I even start the video (but if I'm in subbed videos' folder). The video and subs play fine in WMP11, but not in Media Center.

I did some minor investigating and realized that the crash only occurs if I have more than one subtitle file in my video folder. I realized that multiple VobSub icons where appearing on my taskbar. It seems that Media Center is reading all the subs in a folder as soon as I select it. I tested it with just one video and srt file in the folder and it seemed to work okay. I then tried to put each episode and subfile in it's own subfolder, but a new VobSub icon appears on my taskbar as Media Center reads the folder and it's thumbnail/etc appear on the screen. Sometime there is two or three icons at a time and eventually they all disappear (once all the files have been read in Media Center). But once I select a video, it crashes. It takes a little bit longer to crash, but it still crashes.

It doesn't actually try to play more than one subtitle file with video, but somehow the process of "reading" the file in the folder just kills Media Center.

Any ideas of what the problem might be? Codec clash? Evil spidermonkeys?

Thanks!
