can't import music on new version of itunes

    i've downloaded the new version of itunes, and i can't import new music on my ipod classic. i unistall the new version and downloaded the old version back on my cumputer. now when i try to open the old version of the itunes it gives me a message saying," the file itunes library.itl cannot br read because it was created by a newer version.how can i fix this problem.

    Watch out!

    I would back up your music on your ipod if you don't have it all. The safest way to do that is with File Explorer because it will operate in a read only mode. The music is in a hidden folder called control? You need to go into tools/folder options and turn on the ability to see hidden files and folders.

    itunes has put out some very dangerous updates this year. Some have killed ipods by locking them completely down. I still use a 4 yr old version. I miss out on a few extras but it has never tried to kill my ipod.
