Nano charges fine on Docking station plays fine via dock/head phones and car stereo. But the min I plug in to laptop NOTHING!!!!..
windows vista doesnt know it there other than the fact is it turns ipod on when i plug usb in.
checked all p,c settings (other ipods work fine Nano 4th n 5th gen 4th gen touch),
tried 2nd gen nano in 2 diff p,c's same problem.
Now while i was at local shopping center i noticed an apple stand so i asked them to try for me.. He plugged in to mac via my usb cable and voalla he told me i have 285 songs and x amount of photo's stored..
excellent I thought. so the second i got home i plugged in to my windows laptop....... NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now after reading all the sites listed on google by typing ipod in i have decided its only working on a mac.. so how can i resolve this problem when i cant even get it to be recognized on laptop
oh btw... done the 5r's and forced disc still nuffin

Maybe you were punished by itunes. It now has a death punch that no one has beem able to fix since it came out maybe a year ago. I have suggested posting the problem on Media Monkey's development forum. I don't think anyone has done that yet. MM alows anyone to build subroutines in VB and run them in MM. They have several sync routines. I suspect there is a master file that has a kill switch. You can access your ipod as a disk but not sync.
